Acrylic on 12 x 9.5 inch wood

How I got started: My degree is in Animal Biology, so I’m pretty self-taught in the art department. Seven years ago, after I graduated college, I started a pet sitting and dog walking business. One year for my client's holiday gifts, I painted their dogs. I received amazing feedback and discovered I loved painting! I later transitioned into making art full time. Besides offering custom pet portraits, I have expanded into also painting wild animals and vibrant nature scenes. I create all of my artwork on wood, adding an extra element of nature. (The wood I use is sustainably sourced in WI using environmentally friendly practices. No wood waste ends up in landfills, even the sawdust is then used for livestock bedding.)

My hope: I hope my art inspires others to get outside and enjoy nature, even if it starts as a simple walk close to home. Once you explore the wilderness, you appreciate it more and form a connection to these wild places and animals. You can find so much peace in nature and I hope my art is able to remind people how lucky we are to live in this beautiful world and how important it is to stay connected to it and keep it wild.

A portion of each sale is donated to wildlife and habitat conservation, so when you buy a piece of art from me, you are doing mother nature a service as well.
